Global Advertising Forecast 2010- UK
London, September 13, 2010 – MAGNAGLOBAL, a division of IPG’s Mediabrands, is releasing an updated UK Media Advertising Revenue Forecast and revising previously published forecasts.
We are raising our 2010 figures as media suppliers’ advertising revenues grew at a faster-than-expected pace during the first half of the year, led by the TV sector. Further, growth came at a time when the new government started to slash its own advertising budgets (~£200m historically), suggesting greater resilience than originally thought. We are thus raising our 2010 growth estimate to +6.2%, up from our previously published expectation of +3.1%, as the media economy will generate £11.6 billion in advertising during 2010, roughly 2005 levels. Our longer-term growth rates for 2010-2015 have been increased as well, up from +2.7% to +3.3%.
