Christopher Williams, President, Investment Strategy
Chris is a leading global investment director and buying strategist. In his role as President of MAGNAGLOBAL Investment he oversees the investment of $26 billion media billings globally. Chris helped define the MAGNAGLOBAL branding and positioning, working with agency leaders across Mediabrands to determine how the MAGNA model can bring increased efficiency, consistency, client performance and differentiation. He is also responsible for ensuring greater worldwide collaboration in the trading process at both Initiative and UM.
Prior to joining MAGNAGLOBAL, Chris was Investment Director Worldwide at Initiative, where he led investment strategy and best practice across the network, and worked with several leading brands to deliver consistency and efficiencies across multiple markets.
Chris’ first senior role in media was Business Director for Starcom Motive in the UK in 2001. He then became Head of Negotiation at Starcom Motive, UK. Over the next five years he was progressed upward through the organisation, fulfilling the role of International Buying Director and rising to UK Buying Director, Starcom Mediavest. He has been involved in all areas of trading, senior client relationship management, new business and strategic direction.
Between 2007-2009, based in the UAE, Chris was responsible for initiating cultural change and engineering best practice as the Strategic Trading Director for Publicis Groupe Media, Middle East North Africa region. Chris has also developed media negotiation strategies for major multi-national advertisers, in markets including, Ireland, Turkey, China and Norway. Early in his career Chris worked in the media department at Leo Burnett London and in media sales for ITV, the UK’s leading commercial broadcaster.
